Description

We seek to hire a highly motivated and results-oriented Recoveries Officer to join our team at our Head Office in Harare. The successful candidate will report to the Credit and Risk Manager.

Job Responsibilities

- Locate and notify delinquent borrowers and guarantors via personal visits, telephone, or mail to solicit payment or seize loan collaterals

- Track arrears reports and client commitments daily

- Train, develop, and motivate Business Development Officers (BDOs) on effective recoveries strategies

- Coordinate with external debt collection agencies and the legal department

- Develop, implement, and manage effective recovery strategies for delinquent loans

- Prepare regular reports on overdue accounts, recovery progress, and challenges faced

- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices related to debt recovery

- Perform any other responsibilities assigned

Skills and Abilities

- Excellent debt recovery skills

- Ability to work under time pressure and operate sensitively in a multicultural environment

- Good computer skills and report writing abilities

- Clean Class 4 driver's license

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or a business-related field

- At least 2 years' experience in a field-based collections and recovery role in Microfinance/SME lending

- Knowledge of Microfinance and Reserve Bank regulations governing microfinance institutions
