Job Description:
Maintaining, monitoring, checking, and ensuring availability of correct material for underground operations whilst maintaining optimum stock and producing stock management reports.
- Ensuring all inventory and stock management systems are maintained accurately
- Managing mine site inventory to control costs within budgetary limits
- Managing and maintaining the company's material and stocked product inventory
- Minimizing overstocks or removal of obsolete materials
- Ensuring effective issuing and receiving of stocks in support of production
- Maintaining stock levels of critical spares and stock items
- Developing and implementing inventory management controls and procedures
- Delivering continuous coaching and skills development to stores team
- Keeping accurate and comprehensive physical and electronic inventory records
- Conducting periodic stock counts and investigating stock variances
- Working collaboratively with user departments to ensure no production disruptions
- A degree in Purchasing and Supply, Procurement or equivalent with at least 3 years of direct supply and logistics experience
- A diploma in Inventory and Stores Management, or Purchasing and Supply, or equivalent with at least 5 years of direct supply and logistics experience
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply is an added advantage
- Understanding of tendering and contracting processes
