Description

- Perform venesection on blood donors

Job Responsibilities

 

- Collect samples for laboratory tests

- Perform plasma exchange procedures

- Compile periodic reports for decision-making

- Order consumables

- Induct and capacitate staff

- Validate and verify equipment

- Check the integrity of blood bags

- Report vehicle/equipment faults/breakdowns

- Counsel blood donors

- Bleed clients for paternity test samples

- Induct Peer Promoters on the blood donation process

- Perform apheresis donation procedures

- Conduct blood donation process talks

- Conduct pre-donation screening

- Verify donor identity and record donor information

- Provide donor care after bleeding

- Identify and manage adverse reactions

Skills and Abilities

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work under pressure

- Attention to detail

- Ability to work independently

Educational Qualification

- Degree/Diploma in Nursing

- Qualification in Counselling

- Valid practicing certificate

- At least 2 years' experience in a similar position
