Description

Reporting to the Farm Supervisor, the ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting high welfare standards of livestock and maintaining farm operations.

Job Responsibilities

- Support high welfare standards of livestock (pigs, poultry)

- Feed, clean out, and bed down livestock

- Support pig farrowing

- Maintain high standards of biosecurity and health and safety

- Maintain a clean feed and water supply and monitor intake

- Move and handle animals in a respectful manner

- Repair and maintain farmyard buildings and boundaries

- Help maintain areas of the farm for environmental benefits

- Prepare the ground for sowing crops

- Sow, maintain, and harvest crops following a management programme

- Complete other general farm duties when required

- Maintain records

Skills and Abilities

- Demonstrated piggery experience

- Farrowing experience

- Experience with poultry (layers, road runners) is a plus

- Physical ability to work on a farm

Educational Qualification

Diploma in Agriculture is an added advantage
