Description

Location: Gaborone, Botswana

Emeritus International Reinsurance (Botswana) seeks a highly qualified and experienced individual to lead its underwriting team. The successful candidate will drive strategy, policy implementation, and team development.

 

Job Responsibilities

- Pricing and structuring reinsurance agreements

- Leading treaty and facultative placements

- Overseeing underwriting functions, claims processing, and payment authorizations

- Managing retrocession programs

- Ensuring regulatory compliance and internal policy adherence

- Defining and executing underwriting strategy

- Driving portfolio growth, profitability, and diversification

- Building relationships with cedents, brokers, and retrocessionaires

Skills and Abilities

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Insurance and Risk Management, Engineering, or relevant field

- Master's degree in Business Administration or equivalent

- Postgraduate qualification in insurance (ACII or AIISA)

- Minimum 10 years of experience in reinsurance at supervisory and leadership level

- Strong analytical skills

- Experience in international reinsurance underwriting, including African and European markets
